LAB TESTING

When indicated, lab testing is an effective tool to gain insights and investigate deeper into underlying nutritionally-related health conditions. We utilize a variety of testing including traditional lab tests that test for common health markers like cholesterol and blood sugar which offer good insight to health status.

In addition we also utilize testing that offers a deeper, functional look into your health and nutrition status. These tests are not typically offered by traditional medical providers but can offer a valuable look into nutrition and health status. These tests include Functional Micronutrient Testing, Food Sensitivity Testing, Functional Cardiometabolic Testing, Metabolic Efficiency Testing.

SUPPLEMENTS

A food-first approach is ideally the path to getting all the vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and bioactive health components that we need. Depending on our circumstances, supplementation can be a necessary component to ensuring adequate levels of a number of nutrients to support specific conditions and overall health.

We utilize the Fullscript virtual dispensary which carries the highest quality supplements and provides direct shipping to your home or office. .

FAQs

Can I use my insurance for nutrition visits?

Currently, nutritional services fall under a cash-based model meaning we do not bill insurance for nutrition service reimbursement. For payment, we accept all major forms of credit and debit cards as well as HSA and FSA cards. Payments are collected at time of service. We are happy to provide a superbill (clinical receipt) for visits that you can then submit to your insurance for reimbursement granted they cover nutritional services.

How many sessions do I need?

The number of sessions, as well as the session length within each session will vary based on your needs. In general, you can typically count on an initial nutrition visit to be an hour in length. The number of follow-up sessions range depending on the amount of support needed for your specific condition or goal; length of each type of session generally ranges from 30-60 minutes depending on the work we are doing in a given session.

How much do visits cost?

Nutrition visits are billed at $30 per every 15-minute unit. A typical 60 minute session would be $120. Payments are collected at the time of the service.

How is my health information handled?

Your health information is protected just as it would be at your doctors office. Your health information, also known as “protected health information”, is protected under the HIPAA Privacy Rule which ensures confidentiality and safe handling of your health information during visits, communication, and electronically through our electronic medical record system, or when communicating to other providers that you provide consent for.
